Available Birds
Colorado Parrot Rescue, Inc.
The best way to determine what birds are available for adoption is to call us at 303-973-7655. We do not have a central location where birds are housed and can be viewed. We typically work with people that are interested in relinquishing their bird(s) to keep the bird(s) in their existing home until a new home can be found for them. We have found that this approach is much less stressful for the bird(s) and it works in most situations. This does sometimes prevent us from providing pictures of the birds on this website. In fact, most of our clients prefer this method of re-homing their bird(s). In some cases we actually take in the bird(s) if the previous owner wants to relinquish them right away or if the situation is such that it is in the best interest of the bird(s) to be removed from the home. We utilize some foster homes to care for the bird(s) while a new home is being located and evaluated. Sometimes we get a request from the bird's owner to place their bird(s) in a sanctuary environment or we determine that is in the best interests of the bird(s) to go into a sanctuary to live out their life with other birds of their own kind. We have a working relationship with two wonderful sanctuaries in the state of Washington for these situations. We have sent macaws, cockatoos, amazons, greys, quakers, and conures to these sanctuaries.
